I wonder what it is that this appeals to. Why do I like it, wish I had it in full colored explosion on a wall here? I can say I like it because it’s unexpected, but many things are unexpected. And weird is enticing. Is weird enticing in a work of art because it’s safe? It can’t reach out and grab me. Yet it might. Is it the same thrill as being frightened? But there are many weird pieces that appeal and are not frightening. Sure I can go on about the detail: the use of color, the build of the flesh, the capture of form. It’s more than that thought. It’s the nothing that’s in between the execution and the method, the subject and the form.

Still, words. Just words. I don’t know why, but I like it.

Just Because…

It seems there’s one of us in nature too! And see how the others are blissfully unaware of the struggles one of them is going through? The least they could do is move over.

The Lady still beautiful, especially against such a glorious sky

I intended to post this on the 4th but got distracted. The fireworks, while beautiful, didn’t help. The cat was OK and didn’t understand why Tula was such a basket case. I spent most of the night and some of the previous, just petting and consoling her. She was sure we were under attack and would never survive. We did. And I’m sorry I didn’t get this up as I think it’s just beautiful!

It’s time for a mental walkabout. No method, no madness just stuff. No rhyme to reason with.

Here’s a photo of Sundance, posted by GentleBarn. Why? Just because I loved it when I first saw it. Isn’t he darling? I think he’s hiding food in those cheeks. Either that or he’s trying out for The Godfather.

My friends love me. How many do you have? None.

Best last line from a movie ever? “Shit.” From The Professional. That could look swell on a tombstone. It’s a good movie by-the-way.

So often what is imposed in youth is chosen in adulthood. We become victims of our own ugly.

And, at the last: we all remain quite busy tripping over those emeralds in the mud.

So. Just enjoy the day—why not?

Happy Birthday

For Blondie & all of us who love her! Rock on!
